Tourists rejoice: The beleaguered Powell Street cable car line is expected to resume service at 6 Friday morning, after a house call from the manufacturer of its cables.

The Powell car was offline last night from 4:45 on, with shuttle buses disappointing fannypackers picking up the slack.
