potstickers.jpgIf you were to tell me that at any time in my career I’d be writing about city officials and sheriff hopefuls engaging in an eating contest in which the sole food consumed are potstickers, I’d assume you were either making a racist joke or really, really high.

Proving that stranger things are afoot is Asian Week, who says “Come watch the candidates for San Francisco Sheriff face off in an epic battle for the title of Potstickers Eating Champ.”

This Wednesday’s humiliation and or gluttony of sheriff candidates Ross Mirkarimi, Paul Miyamoto, and Chris Cunnie, as well as BART Board Member James Fang and SF Community College Board of Trustees member Steve Ngo is all part of a celebration of Asian Week’s “Potstickers” by Samson Wong column.

What: The 1st Annual “Potstickers” Potsticker Eating Contest and Reception
When: Wednesday, September 21 from 6-8pm
Where: Carnelian by the Bay, One Ferry Plaza
Cost: RSVP here, donations accepted on a “sliding scale”
