SF Bike Party Pride Ride
It’s no secret that bike culture is HUGE in San Francisco. There’s no shortage of bike shops, hip gear, meet-ups, and secret routes. Owning a bike in this city automatically enters you into a vibrant and active SF sub-culture. San Francisco Bike Party is a monthly celebration of biking, run by volunteers, for and by bike enthusiasts just like you. They plan routes, help keep rides under control, and create an opportunity for cyclists to meet and ride the first Friday of every month.
This week, Bike Party is celebrating PRIDE. Pride (In the Name of Love) will take cyclists on a ride around the city, highlighting everything this great city has to offer– the architecture, people, history, amazing views, the fabulous Castro, and who knows what else?
Riders, gather at 7:30pm and be ready to roll at 8. Meet in the Panhandle at Ashbury and Oak, after checking out the route, so you can come prepared.
Don’t forget your helmet and make sure your glutes are in top shape for those daunting SF hills.
Off the Grid: Friday Night Food Truck Party
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (hey, I’m a sucker for live music and diverse and endless food choices): The “Off the Grid” Food Truck Party returns this Friday at Fort Mason. Over two dozen food vendors and trucks will be tempting you with their delicious cuisine, as well as a bar run by Alembic Bar & Magnolia Brewery.
The event is FREE, but you’ll obviously want tons of cash for munchies and beverages.
It runs from 5pm to 10pm at the Fort Mason Center at Marina and Laguna.

Burning Man BBQ-A-NOOBIE Annual Burning Man Picnic
Burning Man plans are already in full swing for most attendees. And there is certainly no shortage of enthusiasts in San Francisco. The art-crazed, community-oriented, eclectic bunch will be holding a BBQ this Saturday to help newbies get a feel for what’s to come, trade costume pieces, barbecue, and meet fellow local burners.
There will be grills at Lindley Meadow, and organizers will provide charcoal, plates, utensils, and condiments, but they ask that you bring grillable food to contribute to the party.

San Francisco Union Street Eco-Urban Festival
The Union Street Eco-Urban Festival, one of San Francisco’s largest free annual events, will take place this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Two of six blocks of the festival will be reserved for green exhibitors, businesses, and educational displays.
Arts and crafts will be featured, using recycled and sustainable materials. You will also be able to catch some gourmet food, eco-friendly exhibits, live entertainment, and bistro style cafes.
Unfortunately, there is no alcohol served at this year’s festival, but it’s a great opportunity to support and promote green thinking!
The fair will take place on Union Street from Gough to Steiner.
