ArtPadSF is organizing a weekend-long art fair at the Phoenix Hotel. A “provocative new 21st century boutique art fair that focuses on emerging and contemporary art from the Bay Area and beyond,” organizers say the event will have tons of galleries exhibiting emerging artists’ work, contemporary and street art panels, a lounge, outdoor video screening, swimming pool social sculpture, live music, DJs and more.
Friday will feature a panel at 1pm to discuss California Contemporary Art in content, investigating recent artistic trends and practices in the context of California and global shifts. Saturday highlights street and graffiti art, from the Mayan and Roman periods to today. Sunday will explore the state of contemporary photography in context with other regional and international art forms.
The schedule is packed, and the possibilities are endless. Come in the afternoons for compelling discussions and contemporary art viewings, or head by later for drinks and music.
The hotel is located at 601 Eddy St., between Larkin and Polk. A one day pass to ArtPadSF is $10.

SFMade‘s inaugural San Francisco Made Week starts this weekend. A celebration of the city’s manufacturing sector, San Francisco Made Week will feature local factory tours, a pop-up shop of SFMade products, citywide retailers selling locally-made products, and a fundraising gala held at the century-old San Francisco manufacturer McRoskey Mattress.
From 10am to 6pm, shop at SFMade’s Pop-Up Shop at 780 Valencia St. From 5pm to 9pm, eat and drink local, at SFMade Off-the-Grid‘s McCoppin Hub Market (at Valencia and McCoppin streets, between Duboce and Market) which will only feature street food and drinks made in San Francisco.
So after all that shopping, you can refuel with some authentic San Francisco mobile cuisine, unwind with a refreshing beverage, and enjoy the music.
