ABC:
“My Generation,” 8 P.M.
What Is It?: A drama, shot in mockumentary format, that follows up on a group of Austin twentysomethings ten years after their high school graduation.
Why To Watch: You fit the demographic.
Why To Turn the Channel: Your high school graduation was more than ten years ago. A lot more. Also: if there’s one thing worse than shaky-cam cinematography for no good reason, it’s shaky-cam cinematography because the whole thing is a mockumentary.
CBS:
“$h*! My Dad Says,” 8:30 P.M.
What Is It?: A sitcom based on the funny Twitter feed, Shit My Dad Says, starring William Shatner as the dad. (“Shat, My Dad, Says…”)
Why To Watch: Because its existence gives hope to your pathetic dreams of gaining fame from YOUR Twitter feed.
Why To Turn the Channel: A funny Twitter concept does not instantly translate to TV gold, and early buzz about the show is baaaaad. And so is the trailer.
NBC:
“Outsourced,” 9:30 P.M.
What Is It?: A comedy about the manager of a novelty company’s customer service call center who is forced to move to India when his entire department is outsourced.
Why To Watch: You find Indian culture hilarious, weird, and ripe for satire. And you’re already watching all the other NBC comedies on Thursday, so why not?
Why To Turn the Channel: If the show is racist, xenophobic, AND unfunny? Forget it.
