Good news to all you music fundamentalists out there: This Sunday marks the debut of the The San Francisco Mixtape Society’s quarterly music mix exchange event.
The premise is simple: there will be a theme (for this event it’s Cities vs. Towns), you create a mixtape according to the theme and receive one in return. Afterward, all attendees have the opportunity to vote on the best mix, where the winner leaves with fifty dollars worth of prizes and an ego boost that money can’t buy.
The best part is, like the art of mixtapes themselves, the event is totally free.
Everyone is welcome to share their songs in any medium they prefer but how totally rad would you look when you hand off an actual mixtape cassette that you slaved over with a boombox? Bonus points if Phil Collins is somehow involved.
