Once again, the CW is the network with the most premieres tonight, although only one of them is worth watching. And that one is not “One Tree Hill.” Of course, I know “One Tree Hill” has its fans, and its moments…

But Chad Michael Murray just never did a thing for me…

Ed Westick and his Chuck Bass, on the other hand? Yes, please!

This season, the rich and beautiful teenagers of “Gossip Girl” will be entering college, but I doubt we’ll even notice. It’s not like they were ever shown deep in concentration in their high school classrooms. Most of their deep thinking occurred over martini glasses at all the clubs in Manhattan that don’t check IDs at the door. Look, it’s not like we watch this show for its deep and realistic portrayals of modern teenage life. We watch it because it’s ridiculous, and the clothes are fabulous.

But the retiree crowd needn’t worry! There’s still some TV out there for them. Jay Leno’s gonna be on every night, starting tonight at 10 P.M!

“One Tree Hill” premieres at 8 P.M. and “Gossip Girl” at 9 P.M., both on the CW. “The Jay Leno Show” premieres at 10 P.M. on NBC.

Rain Jokinen watches a lot of television and movies and then writes things about them on the Internet. She's a San Francisco native, and yeah, she'll rub that fact in your face any chance she gets.
