Janice Dickinson is scheduled to be a contestant on the summer reality series “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”

And that scares me.

Don’t get me wrong. I adore Janice. I read her first book No Lifeguard on Duty in one sitting; “America’s Next Top Model” hasn’t been the same since they let her go; and clips like this one from her own reality series “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” are guaranteed to brighten my day, no matter how foul my mood.

(Someone please, please add some Keyboard Cat to that clip, STAT!)

Most of the time, I think Janice is well aware of how she’s coming off, and knows she’s got to put on a show for the cameras. She’s savvy. But it was during her stint on a season of “The Surreal Life” that Janice’s antics began to delve into Anna Nicole territory; I began to suspect the chick actually IS totally fucked up, and not nearly as sober as she claims to be. When you begin to have those doubts, her emotional outbursts become more uncomfortable than amusing.

During “The Surreal Life,” Janice talked a lot about being sober, and her first book is all about her addictions and eventual recovery. And on “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency,” she’s always berating models for drinking on the set. But in recent years, she hasn’t hid the fact that she likes her wine.

Then this recent clip from the “Finland’s Next Top Model” showed up. (A lot of it is in Finnish, but you’ll get the important bits.)

Of course, none of this is to say I’m not going to watch “I’m a Celebrity…”; I’m all over that shit!

Janice trucked in her own hair and make-up people every morning on “The Surreal Life.” How’s she going to survive on a show that’s only allowing a packing list of three pairs of socks and underwear per celeb? At this point, I don’t know whether to pray that they keep the booze locked up, or that they provide Janice with a key. All I know is as long as she continues to ju-u-u-st walk the line between legitimate train wreck and all-for-show insanity, I’m watching.

Other celebrities scheduled to appear on “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” include Sanjaya, Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Stephen Baldwin, and Rod Blagojevich’s wife, Patti. The show premieres Monday, June 1st, at 8 P.M., on NBC.
