A San Francisco club that was the site of a fatal shooting this weekend will be closed for at least a week as an investigation into the killing continues, a police spokeswoman said today.
Lt. Lyn Tomioka said the owners of Jelly’s agreed to a voluntary seven-day closure following a dispute between two patrons early Sunday that left one dead.
The restaurant and dance cafe is located on Pier 50 at 295 Terry A. Francois Boulevard, in the city’s Mission Bay neighborhood.
The victim was identified today by the medical examiner’s office as 39-year-old Lee Farley, of Richmond. No arrests have been made in the case.
Police said Farley was gunned down by another man outside the club at about 1:40 a.m.
The two men had argued inside the club and took the argument outside, where Farley was shot once in the chest, police said. The suspect then fled.
Farley died later that morning at San Francisco General Hospital.

“There were multiple witnesses, but nobody has come forward,” Tomioka said.
Tomioka said the city’s Entertainment Commission will consider whether to pursue further action against the club.
Recent violence at or near city nightclubs has prompted some city officials to push for the commission to have broader enforcement powers.
Mayor Gavin Newsom, however, has called for the commission to be disbanded.
A February gang shooting outside the Suede nightclub near Fisherman’s Wharf left one man dead and four others injured. Suede has since closed. Later that month, a shooting near a nightclub in North Beach was followed by a high-speed police chase and a fatal hit-and-run.
In April, a man was fatally shot and three others injured in a parking lot near several South of Market nightclubs just after closing time.
On June 19, a police officer was shot in the foot while responding to a fight outside a Mission District nightclub.
