On Friday, June 25 at 6 p.m. the Critical Mass bicycle ride will begin from Justin Herman Plaza.

Transgender March
The 6th annual Transgender March will begin at 7 p.m. from Dolores Park on Friday, June 25. The route will be as follows: north on Dolores Street, east on Market Street and north on 7th Street into U.N. Plaza.

Streets will re-open after the march passes. The area will be very congested, though, and motorists are advised to allow extra travel time or to use alternate routes.

Giants vs. Red Sox

On Friday June 25, the San Francisco Giants will host the first of three games with the Boston Red Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. The series continues Saturday, at 4:10 p.m. and Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Monday June 28 the Giants will host the Dodgers in the first of three games beginning at 7:15 p.m.

On each game day, as with each home game, eastbound King Street between 2nd and 3rd streets will be closed beginning at the bottom of the seventh inning until traffic and transit clear after the game. Heavy traffic is expected both before and after the games. Game attendees and those traveling in the area are encouraged to take public transit (Muni, Bart, SamTrans, and CalTrain). Due to service changes effective in December, the N Judah line ends at the Embarcadero Station on weekends. The T Third line and additional bus service is available. Muni customers are advised to call 511 or check www.511.org to plan their trips.

Dyke March
On Saturday, June 26, the annual Gay Pride Pink Saturday festivities and Dyke March will take place in the Castro area. This event has changed from previous years. The march will begin at 7 p.m. and is expected to last more than two hours.

The March route is as follows: from Dolores Park along Dolores Street, east on 18th Street, north on Valencia Street, west on 16th Street, and west on Market and into the Pink Saturday Celebration.

Streets will re-open after the march passes.

Pink Saturday
The Pink Saturday event will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight. The following street closures will be required from 5:30 p.m., Saturday to 1 a.m., Sunday:

Castro Street from Market to 19th Street
Market Street from Collingwood Street to Sanchez Street
18th Street from Collingwood Street to Noe Street
Noe Street from Market Street to Beaver Street

Police will barricade Market Street from Noe to Diamond beginning at 5:00 p.m. for traffic control.

Muni bus shuttles will operate between 14th Street at Church Street and 8th Street at Market Street from 5 p.m. – 1 a.m., stopping at the boarding islands on Market Street. Attendance is estimated at over 30,000.

SF Pride Celebration
On Saturday, June 26 from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 28 from noon to 7 p.m., the annual SF Pride Celebration will be held in the Civic Center.

The following street closures will be in effect:

Starting at 9 a.m., Friday, June 26 the following streets will be closed:

Grove Street between Polk and Larkin Streets will be closed until Monday, June 28 at 6 a.m.
Fulton Street between Hyde and Larkin Streets will be closed until Monday, June 28 at noon.

Starting at 8 p.m., Friday, June 25 and continuing until Monday, June 25 at 6 a.m., the following streets will be closed:

Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place between McAllister Street and Grove Street
Polk Street between Grove Street and Hayes Street
Lech Walesa Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street
Larkin Street between Hayes Street and Golden Gate Avenue
Grove Street between Hyde Street and Van Ness Avenue

Intersection Closures: Grove and Polk, Polk and Lech Walesa, and Grove and Larkin

Note: The intersection of McAllister and Larkin will remain open until 8 p.m., Saturday.

All northbound traffic coming from 9th Street will be directed to use Hayes Street to either Van Ness Avenue or Franklin Street. Southbound traffic at Polk Street should use Golden Gate Avenue to Hyde Street until Saturday evening when both Hyde Street and Golden Gate will be closed.

From Saturday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 6 a.m., the area bounded by Van Ness Avenue, Turk Street, Market Street (except for Hayes Street), and Leavenworth Street will be closed to provide a larger celebration area.

Closure In detail: Hyde Street between Turk and McAllister Streets; McAllister Street between Leavenworth and Van Ness Avenue; Redwood Street between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street; Golden Gate Avenue between Leavenworth and Van Ness Avenue; Elm Street between Polk Street and Van Ness Avenue; Polk Street between Turk to McAllister; Polk Street between Hayes and Market (HAYES STREET WILL REMAIN OPEN); Larkin Street from Golden Gate Avenue to McAllister Streets; Intersections: McAllister and Polk Streets; McAllister and Larkin Streets; McAllister and Hyde Streets; Redwood and Polk Streets; Golden Gate and Polk; Golden Gate and Larkin; Golden Gate and Hyde.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the Civic Center area on Saturday and Sunday as there will be extreme congestion especially on Sunday.

Event participants are strongly encouraged to take public transportation or their bicycles to this event as parking and traffic will be extremely difficult.

All Muni Metro trains will stop at Civic Center station for the Pride Celebration and Parade, as well as at Powell and Montgomery stations for the Pride Parade.

Bicycle Parking
On Saturday and Sunday, unmonitored bicycle parking will be available in front of the library on Grove Street between Larkin Street and Hyde Street. On Sunday only, monitored bicycle parking will be located at Hastings Plaza on the northeast corner of Hyde Street and McAllister Street. The San Francisco Bike Coalition will staff the bicycle parking.

Taxi Zones
On Saturday and Sunday, taxi zones will be set up on Van Ness Avenue in front of City Hall and on the north side of Market Street between Hayes and Polk near the Post Office.

Civic Center Station East /West: 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Church Station: 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Castro Station: 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
Powell Station: 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

SF Pride Parade

The annual SF Pride Parade will take place on Sunday, June 27, beginning at 10:30 a.m. from the lower Market Street formation area. The parade will commence at Market and Beale Streets and proceed up Market Street to Hyde/8th Street, where it will disband.

At 9:30 a.m., Market Street from The Embarcadero to Van Ness Avenue will be closed for the Parade. All intersections will be closed to cross traffic during the parade. As each section of Market Street is cleaned by the Department of Public Works, it will be reopened.

Street Closures
The following streets comprise the formation area and will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Traffic on the cross streets will be allowed to continue, subject to delays, except when parade units are actually crossing the intersections.

Market Street from Beale Street to Steuart Street
Spear Street from Market Street to Mission Street
Beale Street from Market Street to Folsom Street
Steuart Street from Market Street to Mission Street

Mission Street from The Embarcadero to 12th Street will be posted as “Tow Away/No Parking” to provide additional traffic lanes in order to ease congestion and keep transit moving. Both Van Ness and the Embarcadero will be open for through traffic.

Muni service Impacts
Service that normally travels on or crosses Market Street will be affected by the Parade. The following lines are affected:

Post Pride Parade Event in the Castro
On Sunday, June 27, after the Pride Parade there will be a gathering at 18th and Castro streets and nearby streets starting at 4 p.m. with ending time to be determined. SFPD will attempt to keep the streets open and have assigned additional personnel.

Those traveling in the area should expect delays.
