gavel.jpgYou called my friends thieves! I’m going to throw a doorknob at you and spit in your face!

That’s the general storyline of what happened to bring assault charges down on the son of former San Francisco Giants player Barry Bonds. 20-year-old Nikolai Bonds pleaded no contest to the charges of physical assault and misdemeanor vandalism to his mother today.

According to Chief Deputy District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe, the young Bonds was sentenced to four days in jail, but was given credit for his time served. Wagstaffe said that prosecutors settled the case because the mother, Sun Bonds, refused to cooperate with prosecution.

The case stems from Dec. 5th, when Bonds allegedly threw a doorknob at his mother after she questioned him on whether his friends had stolen jewelry from the house. Sources said that Bonds also spit in his mother’s face to stop her from leaving the room.
