Picture 20.pngTwo tourists who were struck by a sport utility vehicle while walking in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood Sunday evening are expected to survive their injuries, police said today.

The white Mercedes-Benz SUV hit the pedestrians at Jefferson and Taylor streets at about 7:15 p.m.

Dozens of onlookers stopped to watch afterward, gathering under the giant “Fisherman’s Wharf of San Francisco” sign as paramedics loaded the victims onto stretchers and into an ambulance.

They were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, police said.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and was not arrested.

The accident remains under investigation.
