1906quake.jpgThe U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.0 struck late Tuesday night off the coast of Santa Cruz County.

According to the USGS, the earthquake struck shortly before 11:30 p.m. and had a depth of 3.5 miles.

The quake was centered nine miles southwest of Santa Cruz and 24 miles northwest of Monterey, according to the USGS.
