bart_generic1.jpg2:26 PM: BART is using AC Transit buses to transport passengers between the Coliseum/Oakland airport and San Leandro stations, which are out of service due to downed power lines that are dangling near the tracks, BART spokeswoman Luna Salaver said.

A crew working near the San Leandro station reported a problem with the power lines shortly before 1 p.m.

The disruption means passengers on the Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont lines can expect significant delays.

BART has requested eight AC Transit buses, which are now shuttling passengers along that stretch. Passengers can show their BART tickets to bus operators to board.

Johnson said passengers on the Bay Point line will be “relatively unaffected,” but that there may be timing issues on the “timed meets” at MacArthur and Oakland City Center/12th Street transfer stations.

2:05 PM: BART service has been disrupted between the San Leandro and Coliseum/Oakland Airport stations due to power lines that have fallen across the tracks, BART spokesman Linton Johnson said.

As of 1 p.m., BART was in the process of setting up bus shuttles between those two stations.

A BART dispatcher indicated that riders on trains along the Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont lines can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.
