This weekend, 7 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday, rail improvement work will resume along the J Church Line at the intersections of Church Street at 18th Street and at San Jose Avenue at 30th Street. See all the details here.

Cherry Blossom Festival and Parade
From 5 a.m., Saturday to 11 p.m., Sunday, Post Street between Fillmore Street and Laguna Street and Webster Street between Sutter Street and Geary Boulevard will be closed for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

The parade units will gather at Civic Center at 10 a.m. on Sunday for the Cherry Blossom Grand Parade. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. and follow a route from Polk and McAllister streets, north on Polk Street and west on Post Street to disband between Laguna and Fillmore streets.

All intersections along the parade route will remain open except when the parade passes. Streets will reopen as soon as possible after the parade passes and the streets have been cleaned.

The following Muni lines will be directly affected by the parade:

Zippy 5K Run
On Sunday the Zippy 5K Run will be held in Golden Gate Park. At 8:30 a.m., runners will begin on JFK Drive by the Conservatory of Flowers, proceed west by Stow Lake and then return to the Conservatory. The run is expected to finish at 11 a.m.

Sunday Streets
The third of nine Sunday Streets events will be held this Sunday from China Basin (3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard) to 3rd Street and Armstrong Avenue, along and including northbound 3rd Street. Southbound 3rd Street will be open at all times. The route will be available for recreational activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The headquarters for the event will be at the Bayview Playground at 3rd Street and Armstrong Avenue. Amongst other activities, this is where participants can get details about activity sites along the event route and free bike rentals and maintenance.

Other key locations are Heron’s Head Park, Bayview Opera House, 3rd Street at Galvez Avenue, China Basin and Mission Bay Park.

Cross traffic will be allowed along 3rd Street at 20th Street, 22nd Streets, Cesar Chavez Street, Cargo Way, Evans Avenue, Jerrold Avenue, LaSalle Avenue, Palou Avenue, Revere Avenue, Van Dyke Avenue and Williams Avenue.

Alternative routes to northbound 3rd Street include Bayshore Boulevard and Illinois Street.

Local Access will be available to the Piers along Terry Francois Boulevard from 3rd Street.
