11:08 AM: MTA spokesperson Kristin Holland elaborates on Muni’s initial announcement, saying that “The 10 Townsend bus struck a parked private truck which then hit two other parked, private vehicles” resulting in injuries to one rider.
Earlier this morning, we asked Holland the driver’s name, and how long he or she has been with the MTA. She has not answered that question, only noting that the driver’s on non-driving status pending results of drug/alcohol test, which is protocol.
Though we asked her, Holland also did not confirm reports that the accident was caused because “the driver was distracted” while trying to pass the other bus.
The Appeal’s requested internal and external video of the accident.
8 AM (BCN): A passenger was injured this morning when a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus crashed into a parked car in the city’s Potrero Hill neighborhood.
The accident happened at about 6:20 a.m. near 25th and Dakota streets and involved a 10-Townsend bus, Muni spokeswoman Kristen Holland said.
One passenger on the bus was injured and was taken to a hospital, she said.
Muni’s 10-Townsend and 48-Quintara/24th lines are being routed around the intersection where the accident occurred.
