Man Shoots Self In Thigh During Confrontation In Tenderloin Early Tuesday

A man accidentally shot himself in the thigh during a confrontation with two other people in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood early Tuesday morning, police said.

The shooting was reported around 2:15 a.m. in the area of O’Farrell and Taylor streets.

The victim, described as being in his late teens or early 20s, pulled out a gun during the confrontation with the two males and shot at the ground, suffering a gunshot wound to his own right thigh as a result, according to police.

He was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

No information about the other two males in the confrontation was immediately available from police.
