Pedestrian Killed on I-280 Identified

A 55-year-old woman who was fatally struck on Interstate Highway 280 in San Francisco early Saturday morning has been identified, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The pedestrian, identified as Robbie Garrett, was fatally struck by a vehicle on the highway at the Ocean Avenue on-ramp near Balboa Park, according to the medical examiner’s office and the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials issued a Sig-alert for all lanes of northbound Interstate Highway 280 in San Francisco shortly after the incident was reported at 1:53 a.m. Saturday.

All lanes reopened just before 3:50 a.m., according to the CHP.

The medical examiner’s office has no confirmed address of residence for Garrett.

Her death remains under investigation by the CHP.
