Man Found Fatally Shot In Southeastern Part Of Golden Gate Park

A man was found fatally shot in a southeastern part of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded at 2:16 p.m. to a report from a passerby of someone slumped over in the area of Lincoln Way and Third Avenue.

They arrived and found the victim, identified by the medical examiner’s office as 33-year-old Ronald Hanson, had been shot with some sort of firearm, according to police.

Hanson, a San Francisco resident, was pronounced dead at the scene and the medical examiner’s office determined the case was a homicide, police said.

No arrests have been made as of this morning and no suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
