Man Arrested After Motorcycle Crash Kills Pedestrian

A 26-year-old Burlingame man has been arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs after striking two pedestrians in San Francisco last week, killing one, a police spokeswoman said today.

Sean McGinnis was driving a motorcycle that struck the two pedestrians around 9:10 p.m. last Wednesday at Market and Third streets, San Francisco police Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

One of the pedestrians, Gregory Ihm, 39, was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The second pedestrian was taken to a hospital with facial injuries and has since been released, Gatpandan said.

Prosecutors were not immediately available this afternoon to say whether McGinnis has been charged in the case.
