Two Teens Injured in Mission District Shooting

Two teenage boys were shot near an elementary school in San Francisco’s Mission District early this morning, police said.

Police responded at 1:39 a.m. to a report of shots fired near the intersection of 25th and Utah streets, near Bryant Elementary School and Potrero del Sol Park.

Upon arrival, officers located two 17-year-old boys on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds, according to San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza.

One teen suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the front and back of his torso and to his arm. The other teen also suffered a gunshot wound to his arm, Esparza said.

The teens were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with serious injuries but are expected to survive, according to Esparza.

The suspect has not yet been identified and no arrests have been made, police said.
