SFPD Seeking Driver Who Fled After Hitting Two Pedestrians

Police are looking for the driver of a silver SUV that mowed down two pedestrians in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

The driver hit a 58-year-old woman standing on the street near the corner of Golden Gate and Leavenworth streets at about 3:51 p.m., police said.

While fleeing that accident, the driver hit a 58-year-old man in a crosswalk and kept driving. The driver was last seen fleeing south on Eighth Street, police said.

Both pedestrians were taken to San Francisco General Hospital. The woman was bleeding from the head and the man was suffering from shoulder pain, police said.

The driver remained at large Monday. Police described the suspect as a black man between 25 and 30 years old driving a silver 2005 Toyota SUV with the California license plate #7JGL870.

Anyone with information about the driver has been asked to contact the San Francisco police anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
