SFPD Make Felony, Misdemeanor Arrests During Bay to Breakers

Police arrested 11 people during this morning’s Bay to Breakers footrace in San Francisco, police said.

Officers arrested five people on suspicion of felonies, three people on suspicion of misdemeanors and three people on suspicion of being drunk in public, according to police.

Medical crews responded to 14 medical calls and police said 10 people were treated at sobering centers.

Police said the arrest numbers are subject to change.

Kenyans Isaac Mukundi Mwangi and Jane Kibii won the men’s and women’s elite divisions, respectively, according to event organizers.

The race began at 8 a.m. near the Embarcadero and finished at Ocean Beach.

The annual 12-kilometer race has been held every year since 1912, according to event organizers.
