Man Suspected of Robbing as Many as Ten Banks Arrested

A man suspected of carrying out as many as ten bank robberies across San Francisco in recent months was arrested over the weekend, according to police.

The San Francisco Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 38-year-old San Francisco resident Frederick Black on suspicion of ten different bank robberies.

Police said most of the banks that were robbed were located in the city’s Financial District.

Police arrested Black in San Francisco’s mid-Market Street area on Saturday on suspicion of conducting bank robberies and for outstanding warrants.

The investigation into these bank robberies remains ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to contact investigators anonymously at (415) 575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the start of the message.
