SFPD Seeking Woman Who Stole Diamond Ring From Union Square Store

San Francisco police are seeking a woman who stole a diamond ring from a store near Union Square on Tuesday evening, a police spokeswoman said today.

The theft was reported at 5:38 p.m. in the 100 block of O’Farrell Street, where the suspect entered the store and asked to see rings, police said.

The suspect, described as a woman in her 20s, then grabbed one of the diamond rings and fled to a waiting black four-door sedan that drove away, according to police.

The woman remained at large as of this morning, police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan.

Gatpandan declined to say how much the stolen ring was worth but noted that the case was considered a grand theft because the loss exceeded $950.
