Gunshots Injure One, Strike Police Substation in Bayview

San Francisco police are investigating a shooting in the Bayview District today that injured one person and struck a police substation.

Police were called to the 200 block of Cameron Way just before 9 p.m. after a shotspotter activation indicated a shooting had occurred in the area.

Officers found a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the hip that is not expected to be life threatening. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

The police department’s Double Rock substation was struck by gunfire during the shooting, but no one was inside at the time, police said.

No arrest has been made. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call police at 911 or on the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
