Suspects Arrested on Suspicion of Assaulting Man, Stealing His Camera at Alamo Square Park

Four men in their late teens and early 20s were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 53-year-old man and stealing his camera in San Francisco’s Alamo Square Park Wednesday evening.

At about 6:20 p.m., police received a report of a robbery on Scott Street near Fulton Street by Alamo Square Park.

A suspect struck the victim in the back of his head before taking his camera from his bag, police said.

The victim then chased the suspect as he ran toward a black 2013 Chevrolet SUV that was waiting nearby, police said.

The victim fell and hurt his hand during the chase, allowing the suspect to get inside the waiting vehicle before it fled the scene.

Police located the suspect vehicle a short time later and arrested the four occupants of the vehicle, who were 19, 20, 21 and 23 years old.

The victim complained of neck pain and suffered a cut to his finger, but refused medical treatment.
