Man Shot in Leg While Chasing Down Robbers in Tenderloin

A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg as he chased two men who had just robbed him Wednesday night in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, police said.

The shooting was reported at about 10:30 p.m. near the corner of Turk and Larkin streets, police said.

The victim was robbed at gunpoint by two men in their 20s wearing dark clothing. He and his friends ran after the robbers to try and recover the stolen items and one of the robbers turned and shot at them, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

He was shot in the leg and taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
