At-Risk Man Missing Since Thursday Morning Found Safe

A 21-year-old at-risk man who was missing since he was separated from his caretaker Thursday morning was safely located that evening by U.S. Park police, San Francisco police said this morning.

Joseph Han has Down syndrome and is considered a dependent adult, police said.

Han was with his caretaker on an outbound 44-O’Shaughnessy Muni bus at about 9 a.m. Thursday morning when his caretaker exited the bus at Mission and Silver streets and Han remained on board, police said.

The bus pulled away from the curb with Han on board and with his caretaker on the sidewalk.

U.S. Park police found Han Thursday evening, according to San Francisco police. More details about his recovery were not released.
