Pedestrian Struck By 38-Geary Muni Identified

A pedestrian fatally struck by a bus on San Francisco’s Geary Boulevard early Monday morning has been identified as 22-year-old Berkeley man, according to the medical examiner’s office.

A San Francisco Municipal Railway bus fatally struck the pedestrian, identified as David Getman, around 1:10 a.m. Monday near Geary Boulevard and Lyon Street, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Getman was outside of a crosswalk and was struck by an eastbound 38-Geary Muni bus while walking across Geary Boulevard, near Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Shyy said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
