Man Carjacked, Shot in Inner Parkside

A man was shot in the leg and had his car stolen in San Francisco’s Inner Parkside neighborhood early this morning, police said.

The shooting was reported at 4:05 a.m. in the 700 block of Taraval Street.

The 32-year-old victim was exiting his car, a blue two-door vehicle, when a suspect approached with a gun and demanded his property, police said.

After the victim handed over his wallet and keys, the suspect shot him in the leg, then got into the victim’s car and drove away, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, a man believed to be in his mid 20s, remained at large this morning. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
