Man Robbed, Attacked with Baseball Bat on Market

A 58-year-old man was attacked with a baseball bat in a robbery in San Francisco’s Mid-Market neighborhood Wednesday night, police said today.

The robbery occurred around 8 p.m. near Seventh and Market streets, according to police.

The man was approached by three suspects and one of them hit him in the face with a baseball bat, police said.

The two other suspects took his money and cellphone and the trio fled the area, police said.

The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a broken jaw and other head injuries. He is expected to survive the attack, according to police.

No arrests had been made as of this morning, police said.
