Tim Lincecum Throws Second Career No-Hitter Against Padres

San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum threw a no-hitter today at AT&T Park against the San Diego Padres, the second time he has done so in less than a year.

Lincecum didn’t allow a hit in the 4-0 win in a game this afternoon that wrapped up the three-game series against the Padres.

Lincecum also had a no-hitter against the Padres on July 14, 2013, throwing 148 pitches in that outing in San Diego.

He was more efficient today, throwing 113 pitches and walking only one batter on the way to the shutout victory. Lincecum also added two hits at the plate and scored two runs.

Praise for the Giants’ pitcher poured in this afternoon on social media, including from San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, who wrote on Twiter, “Congratulations @timlincecum on your 2nd career no-hitter! Go #SFGiants!!!”
