A Singapore man who bid more than $2 million for a lunch with investor Warren Buffett is the winner of an annual charity auction, officials with a San Francisco nonprofit said today.

The $2.2 million bid by Andy Chua will go to support San Francisco’s Glide, a social service organization supporting needy residents.

Buffett has offered the power lunch to support Glide’s programs for the past 15 years, and has helped raise nearly $16 million.

Winning bids have ranged from $25,000 to $3.5 million.

The winning bidder can invite seven friends to join Buffett for lunch at New York City steakhouse Smith & Wollensky.
