Critical Injures For Cyclist In Pacific Heights Collision

A bicyclist was critically injured when he allegedly rolled through a stop sign and collided with a car in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood on Sunday night, police said today.

The collision was reported at about 9:15 p.m. near Broadway and Laguna Street.

The 51-year-old bicyclist was traveling north on Laguna Street and failed to stop at a stop sign, then hit an SUV driven by a woman who was parking in her garage, according to police.

The bicyclist was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that are considered life-threatening, police said. The SUV driver was uninjured in the collision.

No other details about the collision were immediately available from police.

I’m surprised people aren’t more careful with their behavior at night; it truly baffles me, the seeming disdain people can have for their own well-being.

And was the bicyclist sited for anything? Probably sited the SUV driver for getting her vehicle in the way of the bike! Even money says the bicyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet, had no lights on the bike and any damage to the SUV will have to be covered by the vehicle owner.
