Weekend Traffic And Transit Disruptions: Castro Streetscape Project, Market And Haight Sewer Work

Castro Streetscape Project
Beginning at 7 a.m., Friday until 5 p.m., Wednesday, crews from San Francisco Public Works will begin construction work on this project along Castro Street between 18th and 19th streets.

There will be no street closure during construction hours.

The following Muni routes will be affected:
24 Divisadero
35 Eureka
Repair and Maintenance Projects

Beginning at 9 p.m., Friday and continuing through 4 a.m., Sunday, there will be roadwork along Market Streets and at various locations:

Crews from San Francisco Public Works will be repaving the center lanes on Market Street between Fremont and 5th streets.
At the same time, crews from San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will perform sewer repair work on Market Street between Fremont Street and Van Ness Avenue.

Both maintenance projects will take place on center lanes only. Curb lanes on both directions will remain open to traffic. The center lanes will remain closed until 2 p.m., Sunday.

To accommodate this infrastructure improvement work, SFMTA will adjust service on the following Muni lines and routes during the course of the work:

Customers are encouraged to allow extra travel time during the hours when the maintenance work takes place.

Market and Haight Streets Transit and Pedestrian Improvement Project
Crews from the SFMTA and San Francisco Public Works will continue the sewer work in support of the Market and Haight Streets Transit and Pedestrian Improvement project. Weather permitting, the construction work hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The construction includes replacement of sewer line on Haight Street between Octavia and Gough streets; construction of an eastbound transit-only lane on Haight Street between Laguna and Market streets; and widening of sidewalks and upgrade of traffic signal at the intersection of Haight and Gough streets.

Beginning this week, crews will perform overhead wire pole replacement work at various locations.

This ongoing sewer work will require closure of the center traffic lane and removal of street parking within and around construction zone during work hours.

There will be no impact on Muni service.
