Medical Examiner Identifies Victim Of Fatal Drive-By

A man who died after being shot in the head in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Monday evening has been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner’s office as Eddie Ard.

Ard, a 26-year-old San Francisco resident, was found around 5 p.m. in a car near Egbert Avenue and Ingalls Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said Ard had been driving on Ingalls Street when someone drove up alongside him in a black four-door car and fired into his vehicle.

The suspect then sped off, heading north on Ingalls Street.

San Francisco police Officer Gordon Shyy said police do not yet have a description of the suspect, who remains at large.
