Employees Of Polk Street Business Nab Suspect In Series Of Robberies

Police arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood Thursday night and are investigating possible links to two other robberies.

The robbery was reported around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of Polk Street near Washington Street, according to police.

Officers arriving on the scene found that two employees in a business had detained a suspect, Nathaniel Lewis, who they alleged had tried to rob them with what appeared to be a machine gun, police said.

Police are investigating the robbery and possible links to two other robberies that occurred on Nov. 29, 2013 at 7:40 p.m. in the 1700 block of Lombard Street and on Nov. 30 at 1:39 a.m. in the 2000 block of Van Ness Avenue.
