SFPD Motorcycle Officer Hospitalized After SOMA Collision

A San Francisco police motorcycle officer was hospitalized after a traffic collision in the city’s South of Market neighborhood this evening, police said.

The collision at Second and Minna streets was reported at 6:40 p.m. after a motorist made a U-turn in front of the officer, police said.

The officer was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening and was awake and conscious when transported, police said.

Police have not disclosed whether the driver of the other vehicle was cited for the collision or if any one else was injured.
