Elderly Woman Remains Hospitalized After Car Strikes Her On Sunset Boulevard

An elderly woman was critically injured when she was struck by a car as she crossed a street in San Francisco’s Parkside neighborhood on Friday evening, police said today.

The 78-year-old woman was hit at about 7:15 p.m. at Sunset Boulevard and Wawona Street, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for injuries that were considered life-threatening, Shyy said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, according to Shyy.

No other information about the collision was immediately available.
