Police Seeking Cycling Suspect After Polk Street Stabbing

A man was seriously injured in a stabbing in San Francisco’s Polk Gulch neighborhood Tuesday night, police said today.

The stabbing was reported around 9:30 p.m. at Polk and Pine streets.

The victim and suspect met at a nearby cafe and then left. As they got to the street corner, an argument began and the victim was stabbed in the torso, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were initially considered life threatening. However, he is now expected to survive, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said this morning.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on a bicycle south on Polk Street. He was described as a white man between 40 and 50 years old who was wearing a black baseball hat, gray jacket and blue jeans and rode a black bicycle, Shyy said.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.

Why not another reason to hate white people? Or those damned 40 somethings?

You can thank City Hall for enabling the bad behavior of cyclists. They already ignore the rules of the road without consequence and since they dont have plates or licensing they have the perfect get away vehicle.

I wonder if the SF Bicycle Coalition is going to go out and look for evidence like they did on Folsom? Meh… Probably not.

Curious as to why the focus is on the fact that this person rides a bicycle? Do we damn all car drivers every time a murderer gets in a car? Oh wait, bigotry. Sorry – I forgot.

Just in case someone that knows this man saw him riding his bike wearing these clothes.

Wow. So NOT a story that deserves some of the comments hating bike riders below. The fact that he rode a bike away from the scene has nothing to do with the actual crime. It’s just a description, along with what he was wearing, just in case someone who knows him say him like this.
