Romantic Overture Turns Into Stomping And Robbery

A man was stomped on and kicked in the head and a woman had her purse stolen in an attack outside a nightclub in San Francisco’s Fillmore District early Sunday morning, police said today.

The robbery was reported at 2:04 a.m. in the 1300 block of Fillmore Street, which is near Eddy Street.

The victims, a 28-year-old man and 27-year-old woman, were walking out of the club when a suspect tried to ask the woman out on a date, according to police.

The suspect and the male victim then got into an argument and the suspect threw the man to the ground, stomped on him and kicked him in the head, police said.

During the attack, two other suspects grabbed the woman’s purse and the trio then fled, heading south on Fillmore Street, according to police.

The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which included a broken nose and jaw, missing teeth and other facial trauma, police said.

The suspects, all men believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, had not been found as of this morning.
