Weekend Traffic And Transit Disruptions: Market Closure, Haight Street Fair, Sunday Streets

Market Street Repaving Project
Beginning 8 p.m., Friday until 4 a.m., Sunday, the San Francisco Department of Public Works (DPW) will repave the curb lanes on Market Street between Van Ness Avenue and 6th Street.

During the repaving work, with an exception of Muni buses, no bikes or other vehicles will be allowed on Market Street between Van Ness Avenue and 6th Street.

Traffic detours will be in place. Cross traffic will not be affected in the construction zone.

From 7 p.m., Friday until end of service, Saturday, the following bus routes will run on the center lanes and use island stops for loading and unloading between Van Ness Avenue and 6th Street:

· 5 Fulton
· 21 Hayes
· 71 Haight-Noriega

In addition, the following Muni bus routes will be re-routed:

· 9 San Bruno will be rerouted inbound and outbound between Mission and 11th streets and Market and 10th streets
· 19 Polk will be rerouted inbound on Mission Street between 7th and 9th streets.

Haight Ashbury Street Fair
On Sunday the annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m:

· Haight Street between Masonic and Stanyan streets
· Ashbury Street between Page and Waller streets
· Clayton Street between Page and Waller streets
· Cole Street between Page and Waller streets
· Belvedere Street between Page and Waller streets
· Shrader Street between Page and Waller streets

The following Muni line and routes will be affected:

· N Judah
· 33 Stanyan
· 43 Masonic
· 37 Corbett
· 71 Noriega

Event participants are encouraged to take public transportation to the event as there will be limited street parking. Monitored bicycle parking will be available on Cole Street between Page and Haight streets.

Sunday Streets – Bayview/Dogpatch
The sixth of ten Sunday Streets events will be held this Sunday along the northbound 3rd Street. This event will begin at Mendell Plaza between 3rd Street and Oakdale Avenue. The route will be available for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to all participants.

The following street closures will be required from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:

· Northbound 3rd Street between Newcomb Avenue and 22nd Street
· 22nd Street between 3rd and Indiana streets
· Indiana Street between 22nd and Mariposa streets
· Mariposa Street between Indiana Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
· Terry Francois Boulevard between Mariposa and 3rd streets
· Northbound 3rd Street between Terry Francois Boulevard and King Street
· Galvez Street between 3rd and Lane streets

Cross traffic will be allowed on:

· Jerrold Avenue, Evans Avenue, Cargo Way, Cesar Chavez Street, Mariposa Street and 25th Street at northbound 3rd Street
· Tennessee Street at 22nd Street
· 20th Street at Indiana Street
· Terry Francois Boulevard and Mariposa Street at Illinois Street

The following Muni line and routes will be affected:

· T Third
· 10 Townsend
· 19 Polk
· 22 Fillmore
· 23 Monterey
· 24 Divisadero
· 44 O’Shaughnessy
· 48 Quintara-24th Street
· 54 Felton

Bayview Music Festival</u>
The 4th annual Bayview Music Festival in conjunction with this week’s Sunday Streets, presented by the 3rd Street Corridor Project and Bayview Merchants will be held on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oakdale Avenue.

Oakdale Avenue between 3rd and Lane streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for this event.

Overnight Closure for Construction
Overnight closure of northbound Highway 1 (Park Presidio Boulevard/Veterans Boulevard) at Lake Street for the Presidio Parkway construction has been taking place each night. This night closure is expected to last for three weeks with the following hours:

· Mondays through Thursdays: Midnight to 4 a.m.
· Fridays through Saturdays: 1 to 4 a.m.

During the closure, Muni routes 28 19th Avenue and 91 Owl will be affected.
