A pedestrian was critically injured when struck by a taxicab near the Broadway Tunnel in San Francisco early this morning, a San Francisco police spokesman said.
The cab was heading east toward the tunnel on Broadway near Larkin Street when it struck the pedestrian, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
The pedestrian was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Shyy said the cab driver stopped at the scene of the collision and cooperated with police.
Drugs or alcohol are not considered factors in the collision, he said.
