Man Shot Outside Hunters Point Home

A man was injured when he was shot after parking his car outside a home in San Francisco’s Hunters Point neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said today.

The shooting was reported at about 6:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Middle Point Road, according to police.

The 42-year-old man’s family members heard gunfire and went outside to find him lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his chest and lower body, police said.

The family members picked the man up and began driving him to San Francisco General Hospital. Responding police officers and medics came across them and continued transporting the victim to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

No description of the suspect was immediately available this morning except that the shooter may have been seen in a black sedan.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
