Man Critically Injured When Drug Deal Goes Wrong

A man was critically injured when he was stabbed during an apparent drug deal in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Sunday night, police said today.

The stabbing was reported at 8:52 p.m. in the 1100 block of Mendell Street.

Police said the 42-year-old victim was involved in a drug deal with two other men when a fight broke out and he was stabbed four times in the torso and leg.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspects, a man believed to be in his mid-20s and another in his mid- to late 30s, fled and had not been found as of this morning, according to police.
