Cyclist Struck By Van At Embarcadero and Broadway

1:38 PM: A female bicyclist was taken to a hospital after she was struck by a van along the San Francisco waterfront this morning, police and fire officials said.

The collision was reported around 11 a.m. at the Embarcadero and Broadway, spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, Talmadge said.

The bicyclist was conscious and breathing before she was taken away by ambulance, San Francisco police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

He did not know the extent of her injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the van remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, Shyy said.
