PG&E crews were called to assist at a water main leak near the University of San Francisco as a precautionary measure Sunday morning, but there was no actual gas leak, a spokesman said today.
Crews were called to the 2100 block of Grove Street, which is near Cole, just before 7 a.m. where a water main break had occurred, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
While the incident was initially reported as a ruptured gas main, Guidi said it later became clear that the utility had only been called in as a precautionary measure.
The gas line was capped and shut down in order to facilitate repairs to the water main, which will occur Monday morning, Guidi said.
