bart_generic.jpg9:04 AM: Mechanical problems with a BART train caused systemwide delays of up to 30 minutes this morning, a BART spokeswoman said.

An SFO-bound train with 10 people on board became disabled at 7:22 a.m. between BART’s Balboa Park and Daly City stations, spokeswoman Luna Salaver said.

Another train came to take the passengers off the disabled train at about 8:30 a.m. and BART crews cleared the train from the trackway at 8:48 a.m., Salaver said.

BART service between the East Bay and San Francisco was delayed for about 10 minutes as of 8:50 a.m., while trains between the 24th Street Mission and San Francisco International Airport stations were delayed by as much as 30 minutes, according to Salaver.

The spokeswoman said normal service could resume as soon as 9:10 a.m.

8:40 AM: A disabled BART train is delaying service into and out of San Francisco this morning and has stranded 10 people onboard, agency officials said.

The disabled train was reported at 7:29 a.m. between the Balboa Park and Daly City stations and is causing delays of 15 to 20 minutes in both directions, according to BART officials.

Crews were unable to get the train moving again, so another train was en route as of 8:10 a.m. to tow the disabled train away, BART officials said.

There was no estimate for when regular service would resume.
