cover-crosswalk.jpgA vehicle struck two pedestrians in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood Wednesday night, police said.

The pedestrians were struck at the intersection of Vicente Street and West Portal Avenue at about 9:40 p.m., police said.

According to the police investigation, the pedestrians, a man and woman, were crossing the street in a crosswalk when a vehicle struck them.

The driver remained at the scene of the collision and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Both the pedestrians and the driver of the vehicle claimed to have had the right of way at the time of the collision, according to police.

The female pedestrian was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
